Do you have to turn yourself into an archetype to have people read your blog?

Not sure. My blog is scattered and not many people read it. Hmm... i need more evidence.

I was just having a very similar thought...literally like 2 minutes ago. Nobody reads my blog either (ok, maybe like 4 people :)). Oh well, I see it as being a weird little journal of sorts. Is that satisfying enough to keep one going though???

And if it makes you feel better, I am one of the 'not many people' that read your blog. :)

Hi Torben, I'm a former student and lifelong admirer of Scott Abbott's who wandered over here from his blog. My blog is also very unfocused (like I am) and is read mainly by a handful of family and friends.

Unless you think like a marketer to figure out what people want to read, you may never attract a large crowd. I'm sure you could choose a slant, go for it, stick to it and get a following.

But that might be like speaking in front of a huge auditorium (a dynamic that does have its benefits) all of the time. My favorite conversations are always just me and a few close friends.

I suppose it's a question of what kind of communication you are trying to achieve here.

Well, I've looked around a bit and I dig what you have going on here. I'm always interested in the thoughts of a thoughtful young Mormon swimming somewhat upstream.

I'll be back around, and I suggest you keep on doing what you're doing.
